collectible pair of Spiderweb Turquoise earrings set in 925 silver
Highly collectible pair of Spiderweb Turquoise earrings, 1” long.
I believe these stones to be from the now-closed Number 8 mine in Nevada, but other mines produced this turquoise, notably: Kingman, Lander Blue, Lone Mountain, Candelaria, and others; and really its just a gut feeling from looking at a lot of stones and research about turquoise.
Spiderweb turquoise is pretty rare; roughly only 1% of turquoise has this design pattern. The webbing is actually the matrix fusing together small pieces of the mineral.
These leaf-shaped stones are bright teal with brown/black webbing and set into a deep silver bezel.
Both stones have a chip in the back (invisible when worn) and I’m thinking that this was done intentionally to prove that this is real spiderweb turquoise (as you can see the “inside” of the stone!). Photos were taken in both shade and late afternoon sun.
Stamped 925 (both the bezel and hooks are 925 silver). Weighs 10 grams. Measures 1” long.
