Ammonite Fossil ring dish (for boudoir, holding crystals, jewelry, doodads, etc..)
One of my suppliers had these little dishes in their backstock and when they offered them, I said “oh yes!”.
They couldn’t remember where they got them and there are no distinguishing marks.
Each dish is almost 5” x 3.5” in an oval shape. These are contemporary but will fit well with your rustic collection.
These pieces were cut from a solid piece of prehistoric Madagascan ocean bedrock; hand carved and highly polished. Looking closely you can see what may be small fossils, shells, and sediment in the stone.
Some dishes have light scratching on the base from storage. As with all natural materials, there may be “imperfections” but that is a part of the appeal to many people. Each dish is different.
