Thick & Gemmy Rhodochrosite set in 925 Silver Pendant

Large banded Rhodochrosite set in .925 sterling silver pendant.
Weighs 44 grams and measures just over 2” long and 1.25” at the widest part.
The stone is from Argentina, where stalagmites formed in silver mines. Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate, but during formation the manganese was frequently replaced by iron, magnesium and/or calcium, causing the variations (banding) of colours.
This piece has a corner of brown, which some people love!
Will come with either a 16” or 18” sterling silver chain depending on availability.
